This is 100% eye candy. This is a book of ART. This book does not contain instructions. It is a book containing pictures of 54 quilts by a quilting genius. Jacqueline de Jonge's designs and use of color are unparalleled. The book is well designed. Each quilt featured has two pages. No flipping back and forth. The entire quilt is pictured on the right page. The picture size is around 11" square. The left page has the quilt name and 2-7 smaller pictures of sections of the quilt. Notice the cover of the book. The pictures on the right of the cover are the types of pictures on the left page. Some of these pictures are enlarged but some are not. Some I believe are enlarged so you can see the detail better. I think that the smaller pictures are so you can enjoy and appreciate the artistry that she puts into each block.This is not a small book. The outside is a little more than 12x12". All pictures are printed on black which really makes the colors pop.This book makes me happy. It relaxes me and brings me great joy. It is one of my favorite books of all time. It has never been shelved since I purchased it. I keep it near to my favorite chair.If you want a pattern they will cost you between $15.00 (no foundation papers and a less complex pattern) to $45.00 and up with foundation papers included. That is for each pattern. But let's face it, how many of us have the skill or time to even come close?
