Love my carhartt bibs. When others are freezing, I am warm as toast. And the actually sent me the right size. ???I just received my overalls and its a bittersweet purchase. What was so frustrating for me initially was wading through so many helpless reviews informing "good product," "husband loves them" and on and on with no info on a sizing. What are the sole purposes of writing these things? I can see the star stats so the last thing I needed was to waste my time with worthless patronizations! I know I spent a good hour trying to make an informed purchase ... and missed the mark on a perfect fit.Anyways, I'm 5'11" and 175 lbs with a medium to slender build. My chest is 42", waist 32" and inseam 32" as well. I crossed my fingers and ordered the 36"x32". I'm sure glad I went up in the waist as these give me a good snug feel, but not too tight of a fit and I can still get my hands inside around them. But, I should have ordered the 30" inseam as these are a bit too long with the heel dragging the ground about 1" worth already having cinched up the suspenders to a comfortable crotch fit. I may end up returning for a 36"x30", though will read up on the shrinkage (if any) for washing recommendations. One let down are the super cheesy suspender clasps! (Reason for the 4-star rating) Someone tried to reinvent the wheel and failed miserably. These obviously will be the first area to fail as it looks and feels like some designer jeans add-on made of cheap alloy and somewhat difficult to adjust and secure. Other than that, these feel well insulated, very durable feeling and comfortable. My first impressions are that the materials should hold up for quite some time. Hope I didn't waste anyone's time reviewing my review.Update 10/20/14: I ended up returning these to reorder the 36x30 and ran into another let down. The primary issue you'll run into is the difficulty in sizing as numerous other reviewers have claimed. WARNING! If you need to return them, you'll pay for shipping and will not receive reimbursement until the company has received the item. And wouldn't you know it, the price has gone up an extra $10 in just a week's time so these were a pretty expensive pair of overalls for me! This will be the last time I try and order clothes from "this company," as their sizing charts were designed for another species! These things are the Bomb!!!!They are the most comfortable Bibs that I have ever owned. Might even wear them to church to show them off!!I am a 33w32Land purchased a 36W30L length and being afraid of all the negative reviews , took the gamble and after much research made a hole in one with my purchase. I have enough room for paints underneath with long johns and a sweatshirt up top. I must tell you that I am 6 ft and 172lbs and a runners body with 0 body fat. If you have a big stomach go 6 inches up in the waist area, no stomach go 4. Go two inches shorter than your normal paints length to compensate for being coveralls( I own 6 pairs total and all when I order my normal paints length are always too long and when I go two inches shorter they all fit perfectly. These are made in the USA and have the great quality of the clothes made here from years gone past and do not mind paying more for them. the legs are insulated and the top is not which I like and do not restrict me like my other bibs. I wish Carhartt would go back to making all their clothes in the United States because their clothes that are made here seem to be 50 percent better than the stuff they are making in mexico and else where. These are quality made Quilted Overalls. As others have said... be sure to order 2 sizes larger than your regular size! So... if you wear a 36 waist get a 40 waist in the Overalls. As for length... these do run a little long in the inseam. And even though they will shrink a little with washing, they will stretch back out after a couple of days and you might find yourself walking on the bottoms. Just keep that in mind. I put tape around the bottom of mine when wearing to keep dust and snow etc from getting in the bottom of the legs. The snaps and zippers on these are high quality and are hard to "get off track". When buying Overalls... you get what you pay for. I have been wearing warm weather work clothes for over 20 years and trust me... for the price... Carhartt is the best. As for warmth... these are the "Warm" rated Overalls... they will work fine down to about 0 degrees for any length of time and are fine for 20 and 30 below if you don't have to stay out in it for a long time. If you have to be out in that temperature for more than a few hours I recommend the "Warmer" or "Warmest" rated Overalls. This overall is perfect for Washington State winters.I am building a house through the winter and these overalls have kept me comfortable with normal carhartt pants and a thermal layer underneath.ADD 6" to your waistline size if you plan on wearing jeans or carhartt pants underneathFor example, I normally wear 36W,34L jeans and ordered a 42W,34L overalls. After a few wash and dry cycles, it fits perfectly with all buttons fastened (also have thermal layer, t-shirt, flannel shirt, hoodie on underneath overalls). If you carry your weight in your belly and chest (wear your jeans beneath your beer belly) you may need to add a few more inches on top of the initial 6".I have spent quite a bit of time sitting on an excavator and found the length just right (did not ride up my leg), especially after the first few washes and the length shortened up a bit.The only drawback I have found is that the front breast pocket is too small to fit my smartphone (iPhone 4.7" screen)Outstanding quality and they will lastGreat piece of kit, fast delivery from the USA. They're very well made and are very warmWer einmal Arbeitskleidung von Carhartt hatte, kauft sie einfach immer wieder - etwas teurer als der Durchschnitt aber weit besser.
